BPI

BPI: Bibiliotheque Publique d'Information

With more than 150,000 monthly visitors, the BPI (Bibliotheque Publique d'Information - Information Public Library) offers services to French professionals and academics.

The Opportunity

Design an flexible platform that will provide new content capabilities to manage library records, while integrating seamlessly with all existing technologies.

The Requirements

  • Make the descriptive technical records (which provide information about all library resources) easily accessible.
  • Enable document publication for creating new records.

The eXo Solution

Integrated and open: it was easy to adapt the platform to the specific requirements of the Library (user profiles management, access rights, validation processes and more), and to integrate with the existing infrastructure.

eXo Platform is tightly integrated in the BPI environment, and creates synergies between other solutions: Spago BI for the Business Intelligence, Talend for Data Integration (Extract, Transform, Load - ETL) and Bonita for the Business Process Management (BPM).

eXo was also chosen for its ability to address the different integration issues through its compliance with major standards: JSR 268, JSR 168 and Content Management Interoperability Specification (CMIS).

The Result

  • Short learning curve: it was easy for users to quickly adopt the solution, and to begin contributing content in an efficient way.
  • Increased productivity: library employees only have to use one tool to access the different services.
  • Improved customer satisfaction: the content tools simplify the information search and improve the quality of the service provided to the users. The Library welcome desk can answer visitors' question quickly and easily.
