Forums and Categories Create as many public or private forums and categories as required.
Organization and Permissions eXo Core Services, using the organization and permission capabilities of the GateIn portal framework, facilitates easy and effective management of registrations, groups and users.
Access Policies Customized access restriction (view, post, reply, moderate) can vary depending on the forum or topic; IP filtering with banning capabilities is also available.
Rich Text Editor Write messages with the rich text editor and easily quote or link to other messages, as well as add images. Supports standard and extended BBCode tags, controlled HTML tags and emoticons.
Message Preview Preview messages before posting them.
Message Rating Rate messages using a star rating system.
Polls Create polls to gather opinions; facilitate user debate and discussions to improve the feedback collection process.
Notifications Notifications of new topics and posts can be sent via email or RSS.
Member Profile Detailed user profiles can include signature, online status, post counts and other statistics.
Private Messaging Users can exchange and debate ideas in private.
Intuitive Navigation Users can easily spot new messages in a forum or topic since their last visit with intuitive status icons. Bookmark favorite topics, or use tags to make them visible and easily reachable. Navigation can be organized in a hierarchical view (tree) or with breadcrumbs.
Moderation Moderators can split topics, create editions, and mass delete/move/lock/unlock posts. Moderation a priori/a posteriori.
Administration Forum and category setup; manage users, profiles, moderators and other administrators. Options for auto-pruning old or unanswered messages, as well as keyword-based censoring, make it easy to keep content relevant and clean.
Statistics Administrators can have a quick overview of forum usage via the tracking of posts and posters, along with the number of messages and topics created. Global statistics provide the total number of members and a listing of the most active members.

Q&A

Answers Submit questions and answers. Specify the language used for your question to create a FAQ in multiple languages. Multiple answers
Question Management Answer, edit, delete or move questions; manage categories.
Open Comments Make comments directly to the user who originally asked the question; ability to promote comments as answers.
Rating System Use the star rating system to highlight the most interesting questions.
Thumbs Up / Down Thumbs up and thumbs down buttons help readers identify the most helpful answers.
Attachments Users can attach files to questions using the multiple upload system, and preview images before posting.
Print Special display for a clean print-out of individual questions and their answers.
Moderation Administrators can create categories of moderators based on groups, users or memberships, and deactivate or reject questions. Moderation can be done a priori or a posteriori.
FAQ Publish the most frequently asked questions on a clean and quickly browseable page.
