eXo Platform launches eXo Collaboration Suite 1.0, its collaborative add-on

Paris, 18th june 2008 - eXo Platform SAS, collaborative software editor, launch today eXo CS 1.0, a Collaborative Suite module for its portal.

eXo Collaboration Suite 1.0

eXo CS 1.0 is a collaborative solution accessible via eXo Portal. The Collaboration Suite is also available for eXo WebOS, the eXo desktop virtualization platform through the Web.

This new eXo Platform add-on brings all the applications dedicated to the collaborative work inside organisations to enable an improved communication between collaborators :

  • eXo Mail is an email client that is intuitive and easy to set up. eXo Mail can be adapted to every existing email system in the company.
  • eXo AddressBook is an advanced address book that enables collaborators to share contacts when needed.
  • eXo Calendar is a calendar to manage collaborators tasks and events that can be shared according to the team needs for a better time and meetings management.

eXo CS 1.0 : An intuitive collaborative tool

The user interface of eXo Platform Collaborative Suite is intuitive and brings all the features that ease the learning stage of the product. Like all eXo products, eXo CS has a modern look and feel. The drag and drop feature is enabled in all the applications and advanced functionalities can be accessed on a simple right click.

Team members can easily communicate together or with their external environment. eXo CS gives them the ability to keep control over their data through the support of personalized tags and the powerful sharing capabilities of eXo Mail and eXo AddressBook.

The eXo CS applications have been designed to run perfectly together. eXo Calendar events are sent by the email service to the different team members or to contacts chosen in eXo AddressBook. Then, the invitation can be accepted in one click through eXo Mail. However, as in its other products, eXo Platform wanted to keep the interoperability capabilities of its solution with third party collaborative applications through the support of major standards like pop, imap, smtp, CalDAV, iCal, RSS or vCard.

eXo CS 1.0 : An add-on that leverage eXo Portal features

Awaited by many eXo Platform customers, this add-on and the tools that is brings are perfectly integrated to eXo Portal and leverages the existing collaborative capabilities. Coming after months of development and taking care about users needs, eXo Platform is setting a solid basis to brings to companies all the services they want on a portal.

eXo CS can be easily installed on eXo Portal. Deployment is made on the server side and that makes the collaborative suite set up easier.

Moreover, eXo CS uses the group management system of eXo Portal in a way that existing policies in the company are ready to be used in the collaborative suite. Address books and calendars are automatically created and shared for existing groups.
