Microsoft unveiled the Surface Duo that includes two dual-screen during a product event in New York on Wednesday, Oct.2, 2019.
You can call it a Surface, a mobile product, a dual-screen device but don’t you ever call it a phone. All that because Panos Panay, Microsoft’s chief product officer, doesn’t want you to.
And when you ask him what this thing is, he immediately says “It’s a Surface” even though the Duo makes phone calls.
The Surface Duo runs Android and has been heavily modified to look more like Windows 10X. It’s basically a smaller version of the Surface Neo tablet.
The devices will initially be available only for developers who create and test apps. Microsoft plans to start selling them during the 2020 holiday season.
