Have you heard? Jet.com<\/strong> is selling itself to Walmart<\/strong>. Obviously, Walmart, being the retail giant we know, could benefit significantly from this acquisition. It will further develop its online services and get a share of Amazon\u2019s playground\u2026 Yeah. \u201cDream big\u201d, right?
\n<\/p>\n

Anyway, if this acquisition goes right to the end, Walmart<\/strong> will have seriously stepped up its e-commerce game and will be able to compete properly against Amazon<\/strong>\u2026
\nI mean, let\u2019s hope so. Because Walmart has paid top dollars to try to catch up with Amazon!<\/p>\n

The price to buy Jet.com<\/strong>? $3 billion. Yes. That\u2019s what we can call a heavy investment.<\/p>\n

But seriously, Walmart has a lot on its plate if its ultimate purpose is to catch up with Amazon.
\nYou want to know why? Here are some numbers:<\/p>\n

– Walmart\u2019s online sales in 2015: $14 billion
\n– Amazon\u2019s online sales in 2015: $108 billion<\/p>\n

Anyway, Jet.com is, for Walmart, the means to be as dominant online as it is off-line.
