Two of tech\u2019s biggest juggernauts are having differing views on whether artificial intelligence (AI) could help or hinder humanity.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m talking about Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, who are publicly fighting over the future of AI.<\/p>\n

While Musk is criticising Facebook co-founder Zuckerberg for having a \u2018limited\u2019 understanding of the matter, Zuckerberg still can\u2019t figure out why Musk is being so negative and is mocking his behaviour.<\/p>\n
Musk isn\u2019t against AI. On the contrary, he even suggested earlier this year that we should connect our brains to AI <\/a>so we can always control it and not become inferior to it. His concern is that these super-smart machines may one day pose a threat to humankind. He said AI is \u2018the greatest risk we face as a civilization\u2019 and even called for swift government regulation.<\/p>\n Musk isn\u2019t the only one concerned about this. Other scientists, such as Stephen Hawking, have warned that AI could one day be able to redesign itself.<\/p>\n Zuckerberg, on the other hand, is not convinced by the Tesla CEO\u2019s remarks and is taking a starkly contrarian position.<\/p>\n \u2018I have pretty strong opinions on this. I am optimistic,\u2019 Zuckerberg said, as reported by CNBC. \u2018I think you can build things and the world gets better. But with AI especially, I am really optimistic.\u2019<\/p>\n He continued: \u2018I think people who are naysayers and try to drum up these doomsday scenarios \u2013 I just, I don\u2019t understand it. It\u2019s really negative and in some ways I actually think it\u2019s pretty irresponsible.\u2019<\/p>\n It\u2019s always a pleasure to see two giants fighting over our future. And you?
