With this set of improvements we have set out to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Modernize the look of the chat application and make it fit better with the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www-upgrade.exoplatform.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/06\/a-look-at-exo-platform-5-new-design\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Enterprise Skin<\/a> introduced for <a href=\"https:\/\/www-upgrade.exoplatform.com\/blog\/2018\/03\/19\/exo-platform-5-0-released-lets-open-conversation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eXo Platform version 5.0<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make the <strong>chat application<\/strong> easier to use.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improve the mobile user experience.<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Introduce the ability for users to leave <strong>chat rooms<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>A Look at The New Chat Interface:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This improvement is a continuation of our effort to adopt a cleaner, flatter and overall nicer looking user interface design platform-wide.<\/p>\n<p>It was important that we focus on bringing this to <strong>Chat<\/strong> next since the <strong>Chat app<\/strong> is considered as the hub for <strong><i>real-time<\/i><\/strong><strong> collaboration<\/strong> within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exoplatform.com\/?utm_source=BlogEn&amp;utm_medium=Blog&amp;utm_campaign=Content&amp;utm_content=link\">eXo Platform<\/a> today, and we all know the importance of improving the and just like all features that we design, this new interface is fully web responsive:<\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16740 aligncenter\" height=\"1068\"><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chat Usability Improvements:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We introduced some improvements geared at making the <strong>chat<\/strong> more intuitive to its users.<\/p>\n<p>No need to use the specific @ sign to filter users using the search box anymore. Now you have a dedicated search field right above the list of discussions where you can simply type in the user, room or space name in order to display it in the list of discussions.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-16741\" src=\"https:\/\/www-upgrade.exoplatform.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Chat-Usability-Improvements-eXo.gif\" alt=\"Chat Usability Improvements eXo\" width=\"433\" height=\"212\"><\/p>\n<p>You also get two simple filters letting you choose how your list of discussion is displayed. We wanted to make sure that users can now work seamlessly with the chat application from the mobile devices. All user actions have therefore been carefully designed and tested to be doable easily and naturally by mobile users.
