Elon Musk<\/strong>, SpaceX\u2019s owner and CEO, is launching an array of satellites and it\u2019s worrying astronomers as the orbiting \u201cStarlink<\/strong>\u201d devices are moving like a train above cities around the world and may wreck our view of the cosmos.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s aim is to \u201cconnect end users with low-latency, high-bandwidth broadband services by providing continual coverage around the world using a network of thousands of satellites in low Earth orbit.\u201d<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not what astronomer Ronald Drimmel<\/strong> said in a new report by Forbes. \u201cStarlink<\/strong>\u2026\u201d, he says, \u201c\u2026 would ruin the sky for everyone on the planet.\u201d Other astronomers are worried about the Starlink satellites<\/strong> interfering with gathering images.<\/p>\n

But Musk<\/a> confirmed that SpaceX<\/strong> would \u201cmake sure Starlink<\/strong> has no material effect on discoveries in astronomy\u201d and has even sent a note to his team to ask about reducing the reflectivity.<\/p>\n

True to form, Elon Musk<\/strong> continues to create buzz and make a name for himself. We can\u2019t go a month without hearing about something controversial he has done or said.<\/p>\n
