Jeff Bezos<\/strong>, Amazon\u2019s CEO and the world\u2019s second richest man, revealed this week that he will be selling $1 billion (\u00a3800 million) of Amazon stock <\/strong>every year to fund his space agency \u2018Blue Origin\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When he spoke at the 33rd annual Space Symposium, Bezos outlined his plans to make the reusable New Shepard vehicle ready for consumer spaceflight by 2018.<\/p>\n

The company plans to send well-off passengers to the edge of space, so that they experience weightlessness.<\/p>\n

Jeff Bezos is not the first to set out an action plan for such a mission. Elon Musk, SpaceX\u2019s CEO<\/a>, is planning, on the other hand, to send astronauts to the International Space Station atop the Falcon 9 two-stage rocket.<\/p>\n

Well unless you\u2019re Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk, invading space has always been a childhood dream. We\u2019re dreaming of it while they\u2019re making it happen.<\/p>\n

Both billionaires are working on bolstering their chances to compete with each other in pioneering privatised space transportation and reshaping this industry.<\/p>\n

The competition is heating up, not between two countries but between two billionaires. It\u2019s pure ecstasy to watch two giants rivalling over our future in space.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to predict which company will carry the day as they\u2019re both using the same methods and tactics.<\/p>\n

Blue Origin and SpaceX are pursuing reusable rocketry to make spaceflight inexpensive. The two companies want to build an out-of-this-world business opportunity and let\u2019s not forget the ambition and perseverance that are driving these two men.<\/p>\n

Breaking through barriers characterises these two billionaires. They\u2019re both innovating for the sake of humanity and testing limits to go beyond them.<\/p>\n

Pushing harder, never giving up, never taking no for an answer and never considering failure as an option are what will take humanity further.
