What was supposed to be Youtube\u2019s biggest stars and moments celebration of the past year, turned quickly to the biggest platform\u2019s failure.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m talking about the release of YouTube Rewind 2018<\/b> on 6 December, which has made all the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Its dislike count resulted in the video rising to the top of the most disliked videos across the entire platform.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s embarrassing to have such a high ratio on its own platform, especially when there is no sign of the thumbs-down reactions ending anytime soon. On 13 December, the Rewind video<\/b> had picked up 10.1 million dislikes with only 120 million views, becoming more hated than Justin Bieber<\/b>\u2019s \u2018Baby\u2019 song.<\/p>\n
So, to sum things up:<\/p>\n
YouTube Rewind 2018<\/b> managed to achieve in one week what Justin Bieber Baby<\/b> achieved in eight years!<\/p>\n
But was such a slap in the face truly deserved?<\/p>\n
What happened was that the YouTube creators<\/b> deemed it \u2018inauthentic\u2019. In addition to that, PewDiePie\u2019s fans<\/b> organized a campaign to protest against PewDiePie\u2019s absence in the video<\/b>. Despite being the site\u2019s most popular user, the Swedish \u2013 and one of the most controversial \u2013 YouTubers<\/b> \u00a0was not included in the Rewind video<\/b>. His fans naturally and overwhelmingly disliked the video.<\/p>\n
