This match reminds us of the defeat of world chess champion Garry Kasparov by IBM\u2019s Deep Blue computer in 1997. Almost a decade later, the final outcome of the duel between Lee Se-dol<\/strong> and Google\u2019s AlphaGo<\/strong> was very much awaited.

\n\u201cWould humanity be crushed by technology?<\/em>\u201d That\u2019s what I asked myself, hoping, deep within me, that it would be a \u2018no\u2019.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, 12 March, a computer program, designed by the giant Google, achieved a remarkable victory over Lee Se-dol, the Go world champion<\/strong>, which marks a real breakthrough in technology and artificial intelligence<\/strong>.
\nLee Se-dol, who before the tournament claimed he was confident, was beaten by AlphaGo after a 4-hour game.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what to say, but first I would like to offer my apologies. I have not come up to many people\u2019s expectations. I felt somewhat powerless,<\/em>\u201d claimed the Korean champion.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Indeed, he really misjudged the machine\u2019s ability.<\/p>\n

But we can be happy for DeepMind<\/strong> as it won $1 million, which will be used for charitable causes.<\/p>\n

DeepMind, a subsidiary of Google Inc., which developed this artificial intelligence program, described the game Go, invented 3000 years ago in China, as the Everest of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n
