It is disruptive, it is unpleasant, and it breaks our concentration. Start working on a task, but check your\u00a0<strong>social streams<\/strong>\u00a0at every \u201cping.\u201d At the end of the hour, see how much you managed to accomplish. My guess is that you accomplish less than you would if you had a construction site outside your window.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-33689a3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"33689a3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\r\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>However, we do not necessarily notice this noise; it is always fun to check out a picture of a friend\u2019s baby or check trending tweets. We feel connected and appreciated, and it does not feel like lost time. Companies spend thousands of dollars introducing <a title=\"collaboration\" href=\"https:\/\/www.exoplatform.com\/blog\/collaboration-in-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>collaboration<\/strong><\/a> platforms to allow their employees to connect to each other, share documents and information, and have\u00a0<strong>social interactions<\/strong>\u00a0despite distributed offices. A common concern voiced by executives relates to social noise in the workplace generated by\u00a0<strong>social <a title=\"collaboration tools\" href=\"https:\/\/www.exoplatform.com\/team-collaboration-tools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">collaboration tools<\/a><\/strong>. How can we keep the good things (connections, <strong>collaboration<\/strong>, and productivity) and ban the bad things (distractions, irrelevant social pokes, too much information, and information overload)?
