In its major version 7.0, eXo Platform provides many new features and improvements in knowledge management, for a smoother, more intuitive and more collaborative experience.

Organize information with space categories

Finding out the right information at the right time is crucial in any digital environment.

That’s why eXo 7.0 integrates a new feature with categories: you can now create categories and sub-categories, and apply them to your collaborative spaces, such as your knowledge bases or thematic communities.

The result? A clear, logical and scalable organization.

Each workspace has its own context: a theme, a team, an area of knowledge. Users navigate more easily, quickly identify how knowledge is structured and find the space they want by browsing categories.

Co-edit documents in RTL mode

eXo Platform 7.0 integrates OnlyOffice 8.2, supporting right-to-left language editing (RTL mode).

This new feature will change the daily lives of international teams and multilingual communities: it will be possible to create and co-edit documents in Arabic, in a smooth interface that is perfectly integrated with the platform.

This development illustrates eXo’s commitment to provide a truly inclusive workspace, where every employee can contribute, whatever their language or location.

Simplify document management

Document management has become simpler and more efficient, thanks in particular to:

  • Two new options: “Open in read-only” for viewing a file without the risk of modifying it, and “Go to file location” for direct access to the location where it is stored.
  • A new interface for the trash, including filters (document name, deletion date) and a multi-selection mode for restoring several items at once or deleting several permanently. Please note: only platform administrators have access to the trash and can restore items. The trash is emptied weekly.

These improvements give your teams greater productivity and peace of mind.

Enjoy a unified experience with notes & news

The eXo teams have rethought the way content is created and published. News and notes have been merged to provide a unified experience, easier and richer in possibilities.

Key new features include :

  • The note editor is the same as the news one and offers many new possibilities, including the addition of an illustration and a summary for the note. A note can be published as a news item in the activity stream or in a news target on a page, and several publication options (schedule, hide author, hide reactions) are now available.
  • An article can now be listed in a notes tree, to structure tutorials or FAQs for example. Easily select the desired location in the notes tree.
  • Cross-referencing has also been improved: navigating and referencing notes within articles is now child’s play, thanks to internal links.

The eXo teams have rethought the way content is created and published. News and notes have been merged to provide a unified experience, easier and richer in possibilities.

These developments strengthen the desire to capitalize on knowledge at the heart of the eXo digital workplace. In this way, the organization’s knowledge can be centralized, shared, reused and easily enriched.
