eXo Platform 4.1.1 released, along with eXo Chat 1.0.1 and eXo Video Calls 1.0.1!

We are pleased to announce the availability of eXo Platform 4.1.1, the second maintenance version of the Platform 4.1 series.

This version contains resolutions for 135 issues in several categories.

Customer issues
In each maintenance version, we provide fixes for issues reported by our customers through the support channel.

Security vulnerabilities
Information System’s Security threats are a major concern for all our customers. We try to fix them as soon as they are detected. In this release, leakage of space activities is handled. The new release also fixes XML injection vulnerabilities to align with Apache POI 3.10.1.

Upgrade ICEpdf from 4.3.2 to 5.1.1
The eXo platform uses ICEpdf to render PDF files or Office files. The old version of ICEpdf unfortunately does not work on Open JDK 1.7. This upgrade allows eXo Platform 4.1.1 to work smoothly on Open JDK 1.7. It also improves the rendering speed of graphic files like technical drawings or presentation slides that use the Solstice theme.

Upgrade PicketLink IDM from 1.4.5 to 1.4.6, and Infinispan from 5.1.7 to 5.1.8
With these upgrades, eXo Platform works smoothly in clustering mode.

Other defects were reported by our QA process, engineering teams, and the eXo tribe.

Otherwise, you can download and start using the eXo Platform 4.1.1 Enterprise edition trial now.

If you are using eXo Platform 4.1.0, you should follow the Upgrade chapter in the administration guide and the Release Notes on the community website to quickly get the new version to work with your current data.

eXo Chat 1.0.1 & eXo Video Calls 1.0.1
These add-ons are now fully compatible with eXo Platform Enterprise editions, either Tomcat or Jboss EAP. They also fully support non-ASCII characters.
