eXo Platform Integrates Linphone Softphone, Strengthening Its European Alternative to Proprietary Collaboration Suites
With a new connector, the French software vendor brings open source telephony into its digital workplace, delivering a unified communication experience as an alternative to proprietary collaboration platforms.

Paris, July 9, 2026 — French software vendor eXo Platform has reached a new milestone by integrating Linphone’s telephony capabilities, developed by Belledonne Communications, into its digital workplace platform. Thanks to this new connector, users can make and receive phone calls directly from within eXo Platform, providing organizations with a practical solution for streamlining their communication infrastructure.
An Open European Alternative
This announcement is part of eXo Platform’s strategy to strengthen its partner ecosystem and deliver an open European alternative to proprietary collaboration suites developed outside Europe. By relying on open source software and open standards, this approach promotes interoperability, portability, and long-term flexibility for both enterprises and public organizations, while supporting Europe’s growing digital sovereignty objectives.
The integration also marks another step in the evolution of Orange Business’ Live Collaboration suite, which is built around eXo Platform and enhanced by partner technologies such as Linphone.
From Standalone Telephony to an Integrated Service
With Linphone, telephony becomes a native part of the digital workplace through open source SIP technologies designed to integrate seamlessly with existing communication infrastructures. Users can initiate calls directly from the company directory, contact cards, or the platform toolbar without leaving their digital workspace.
By embedding voice communication into everyday collaboration, organizations can connect telephony with business and collaboration tools instead of relying on disconnected applications.
