Red Hat / JBoss Partnership

In June 2009, Red Hat and eXo began to work together on a new open source community project called GateIn. This is a technical collaboration where we are co-developing functionality that will form the basis of future enterprise-supported products and offerings from both companies. The GateIn project represents a merger of the former JBoss portal project and the eXo Portal. GateIn 3.0 has been released in March 2010 and will be the foundation of both eXo Platform 3.0 and Red Hat Enterprise Platform Portal 5.0.

Red Hat's professional edition of the GateIn portal framework, Enterprise Portal Platform 5.0, provides comprehensive, enterprise-level portal features. JBoss Enterprise Platform Portal 5.0 offers a snappable architecture that supports a wide range of extensions.

Leveraging eXo community projects, eXo has implemented certified and tested extensions of EPP5.0 to provide new functionality for JBoss Portal users: eXo Web Content Management, eXo Collaboration, eXo Document Management, eXo Social, eXo Knowledge, and eXo Workflow.

eXo WCM for JBoss (Web Content Management). Publish your documents in a search-engine optimized website that you can fully customize to your own needs. Use the website templates, fast edition features or CSS and Javascript support to efficiently build your website. Versionning and rollback of content helps you keep track of content edition. eXo DMS for JBoss (Document Management). Manage your organization's unstructured information content, with all its diversity of format and location. Gather information with customized forms or aggregated RSS feeds. Tag, version and index documents, then navigate through your documents via thumbnails and cover-flows. eXo Social for JBoss. By turning your company directory into an enterprise social network, you give your end users more communication, connection and collaboration options, to make them more productive.  With support for OpenSocial, eXo Social provides a framework for developers to build gadgets that can display and mashup your social network user and activity information.
