Cartoon of the Week: Company Awards Employees $10 Million

A commercial real estate developer in Baltimore has handed out a total of $10 million in bonuses to its employees. The bonuses come on top of their annual year-end bonuses.

Each of the company’s workers received a payout based on their tenure at the company. The average payout was $50,000, but some longtime employees got more than $250,000.

Company Awards Employees

“To celebrate the achievement of our goal, we wanted to reward our employees in a big way that would make a significant impact on their lives,” said Edward St. John, founder and chairman of the company. “I am thankful for every one of our employees for their hard work and dedication. I couldn’t think of a better way to show it.”

People were in disbelief when they heard the news. Some were crying, others screaming, hugging and laughing. Some even described the surprise as ‘life-changing’ as it will help them pay off their mortgages, credit card debts, or college tuition for their children, and become debt-free.

This is one of the best ways to recognize employees for their hard work and commitment, and I bet that each one of them will have one of the best holidays ever.

Happy holidays, everyone! We hope you’ll have a Golden Christmas too.
