eXo Platform 4.0.6 Released! 18 languages to choose from!

We are very pleased to announce the availability of eXo Platform 4.0.6, the sixth maintenance version of the Platform 4.0 series.

This version contains resolutions for 133 issues from several categories:

Customer issues

We provide fixes for issues reported by our customers through the support channel in each maintenance version.

Security vulnerabilities

Information Systems Security threats are a big concern for all our customers. We try to fix them as soon as they are detected.

Boost in Suggestion application

Thanks to the new mechanism for retrieving suggested users and spaces from huge candidate lists, you might notice a significant improvement when opening the intranet home page.

eXo Platform inside IFrame

The request from a tribe member has been completely resolved in this version. eXo Platform works correctly even inside an IFrame.

Localized application name in Space menu

For versions up to and including Platform 4.0.5, only the label “Activity Stream” is localized on the Space menu. Localization for other items of the space can be set manually by a space manager. Such manual effort is no longer required in eXo Platform 4.0.6 because localization is now automatically applied during space creation.

Configurable validator of page names

An administrator can define custom data validators for several fields of a user profile. From now on configuration is also feasible for the validator of page names. You can change the length limit (30 characters by default) as you require. We hope that this feature is helpful for SEO.

New translations in three languages

Thanks to the valuable contributions of our colleagues, partners, and the community on Crowdin, three new languages have been added; namely Czech, Lithuanian, and Ukrainian. eXo Platform 4.0.6 users can therefore choose from among 18 languages.

Other defects were reported by our QA, engineering teams, and the eXo community.

How to get the update

Customers who subscribe to eXo will receive the bundle via our support channel.

Otherwise, you can download and start using eXo Platform 4.0.6 Express Edition now.

If you are using eXo Platform 4.0.5 you should follow the Upgrade chapter in the Administration guide and the Release Notes on the community website. The new version will then work with your current data.

The next version, eXo Platform 4.0.7, is already on track. It is scheduled to be available at the end of July 2014.
