Right-to-Left (RTL) support for the next eXo Platform release

Our latest major version eXo Platform 6 was released in late 2020, followed by eXo Platform 6.1 recently. They featured several improvements to existing functionalities, user experience, and design.
With the upcoming 6.2 version next October,  eXo Platform will provide support for right-to-left (RTL) languages such as Arabic. The RTL feature is developed for our customers based in the Middle East and North Africa region

What is the RTL feature?

The RTL functionality is the support of languages that are written from right to left. This feature allows eXo platform users not only to have the text of the interface translated to Arabic but also the display of all interface elements (menus, buttons, etc) now goes from right to left with an automatic mirror effect to bring a smooth user experience.

Why?

This major improvement was followed by a growing demand for the RTL feature from our customers in the Middle East and North Africa.
We encouraged eXo clients, community members, and prospects, to provide their feedback and vision for RTL functionality. The data we gathered gave our product development teams a better understanding of the usage, and they assessed the areas that required attention.
For the last couple of weeks, a dedicated feature team has been building and testing the capabilities of the RTL feature and working on potential improvements.
We are pleased to announce the addition of RTL support to the next version of the eXo Platform for Arabic-speaking clients. While we have always supported the Arabic language as well as 20+ languages, RTL has been the next goal in improving the Arabic language user interface and experience.

How does it look like now?

It looks more natural and very user-friendly. The Arabic version now of the product runs smoothly and with a better design.

إكزو بالعربي : إصدار جديد يدعم الكتابة من اليمين الى اليسار

تضمنت السلسلة الأخيرة من إصدارات منصة إكزو و المعروفة بالسلسلة السادسة مجموعة من الإضافات و التحسينات الوظيفية التي شملت بالأساس التصميم و تجربة المستخدم .

 في نفس السياق يمثل الإصدار الجديد 6.2 والمزمع إطلاقه في شهر أكتوبر القادم نقلة نوعية بالنسبة لحرفائنا و مستخدمي المنصة الناطقين باللغة العربية . حيث أن المنصة ستوفر خاصية جديدة تمكنها من دعم و تحمّل اللغات المكتوبة من اليمين الى اليسار كالعربية أو الفارسية و المعروفة بخاصية (Right to Left) RTL

ما هي خاصية RTL ؟

تمكن وظيفة RTL مستخدمي منصة إكزو من تحويل و عرض الواجهة بجميع مكوناتها (نصوص ، أزرار ، قوائم و غيرها )  من اليمين الى اليسار و ذلك باستخدام تقنية المرآة العاكسة .

هذا التحديث في إطار دعم و تحسين تجربة حرفائنا و المستخدمين الراغبين في تفعيل اللغة العربية عبر المنصة .

 

 لقد تمكنا بفضل آرائكم و ملاحظاتكم من جمع الأفكار و تحديد الأولويات الوظيفية لهذه الميزة الجديدة, و عمل فريق مختص على مدى أسابيع على تفعيل  و اختبار و تحسين خاصية RTL و ملائمتها مع منصة إكزو

و بذلك يسرنا أن نعلن عن إدراج ميزة RTL في الإصدار القادم 6.2  لمنصة إكزو (eXo) و إضافة اللغة العربية الى جملة اللغات المدعومة و التي يفوق عددها 20 لغة, لتصبح بذلك المنصة أكثر تماشيا مع متطلبات حرفائنا في منطقتي شمال إفريقيا و الشرق الأوسط
