Video Streaming: A new start for Google and Amazon
Finally, YouTube is back on Fire TV devices, marking the end of a cold war in regard to video streaming. In return, users will be able to watch Prime Video on Chromecast as well as on Android TVs.
Indeed, the two digital giants Google and Amazon had been competing in streaming for more than a year. After Amazon refused to sell Google products on its site, Google removed the YouTube application from Amazon’s products.

But this conflict ended in April when the two giants announced the reintroduction of the YouTube application on Amazon devices and the arrival of compatibility of the Amazon Prime Video streaming service on Chromecast and Android TV.
Today, as promised in April, the agreement is finalized. According to Amazon, YouTube will be available on the following devices – the Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV Stick Basic Edition – along with Toshiba, Insignia, Element, and Westinghouse Fire TV Edition smart TVs.
Finally, the Amazon Prime Day celebration is already starting – and it’s not limited to product discounts!
