Customer Spotlight: SET Paraguay

The Subsecretary of State Taxation (known by its Spanish initials of SET) is under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance of Paraguay. It is considered to be the oldest-established of the various secretaries of state in Paraguay.

The role of the SET is to achieve an effective, efficient, and transparent tax administration oriented to the taxpayer. It works with the fulfillment of the role of the state and supports the development of the country.

In order to modernize and facilitate the tax process for both taxpayers and agents, the SET decided to renew its intranet and public portal.

The SET chose eXo Platform over other vendors, due to eXo’s advanced content management capabilities and ability to integrate easily with third-party applications. Furthermore, eXo was a sensible choice for the SET thanks to its partnership with Datasystem, a local partner.

The portal was deployed in 2011 with the assistance of Datasystem. It was well received and widely adopted by taxpayers, agents, and staff members. It is currently used by over 1,000 agents across Paraguay to perform a variety of operations throughout the various stages of the tax collection process.

Due to the successful implementation and adoption of the platform, the SET renewed its faith in eXo and expressed its willingness to adopt new features in the coming years.
